There are many properties for sale in Albuquerque, and the real estate prices in the area have been rising. The median house value increased from $127,600 to $157,015 from 2000 to 2002. But the real estate is still relatively cheap compared to other metropolitan cities.
The median family or household income is approximately $35,000 per year. This is a little lower than the national average of about $38,000. The real estate market is going to keep increasing, but it will not inflate beyond the means of the people living in Albuquerque.
Within the Albuquerque area are some newer real estate developments. Rio Rancho and Corrales are a couple of the newer communities that have an abundance of properties for sale. Real estate prices may be a little higher in these areas, but the majority of them will still be under $200,000.
Albuquerque also offers many homes that are older and need maintenance. You could buy one of these homes for a low price. You can find them in almost any Albuquerque real estate listing from $50,000 to $100,000. These homes present a great real estate investment, especially if you are competent with handiwork and some light carpentry. Investing less than $20,000 into an older, worn-down house could net you a large profit in the long run. Or you can make it into your home for many years.
There are many different homes in different communities for sale in Albuquerque. Although the real estate prices have risen in recent years, the area still offers great real estate deals. From newer, pricier homes, to older, cheaper fixer-uppers, Albuquerque will probably have a property that meets your needs and your finances.
